Give and Let Give #35: 9/5 - 9/11

While perusing the top trades from last week I found a few gems. The first one comes from Legends and has a pretty specific effect.

On Gatherer Reverberation says "All damage that would be dealt this turn by target sorcery spell is dealt to that spell's controller instead.". The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was Fireball. Back in the 90's, that seemed like a great spell to reverberate, especially if the caster split it to hit multiple targets.

Four mana is a lot for this effect especially when it can't hit an instant (or interrupt as they used to say). It might be worth putting it in your EDH deck if you know your opponent's are playing Blasphemous Act. Even with only 10 creatures on the board the caster is taking 103 points of damage. Tricky to pull off, but pretty sweet!

The next card we are going to look at is Sethron, Hurloon General. To be honest I had never seen this card with the short supply on Jumpstart during 2020. I didn't get to play or crack any of these packs, but it looks like one of the best Minotaur Tribal commanders if not THE BEST.

So how did a 100 point rare make the top trades? If you are like me you may have missed the Sethron, Hurloon General 2021 Lunar New Year Promo! Who knew?

A few weeks ago I hinted at the funky monkey possibly climbing to the top spot, and it finally has. This little guy has sucked up many a removal spell in it's short life span and will continue to do so. He's slippery and hard to get your hands on, but the pro tip I heard recently is to use Ragavan Tokens for proxy's. They don't have the text, but Kari Zev, Skyship Raider has been pumping them out since Aether Revolt.

It may be Year of the Ox, but at present it's Week of the Monkey!
