Give and Let Give #10: 3/14 - 3/20

WRITTEN BY

Welcome back to Give and Let Give!

I'm a sucker for Dual lands and this week is no exception. It's by far the best trade that was completed last week on PucaTrade.

Once upon a time I had a playset of Bayou's, in fact, I had a playset of each Revised dual land (they were worth $10 at the time). We've all heard these types of stories, but I also have one. At the time I really wanted a Mox (who wouldn't?). I made my way to a card shop that accepts trades and flipped 10 duals into a Mox Pearl. I was stoked! At some point I also picked up a Mox Emerald.

I stopped playing MTG in 95/96... obviously a poor choice. When I started playing again in 2012, I eagerly took a trip to my parents house to revisit my old collection. After some digging I found the box with MTG cards only to realize that there were no Moxes and there were no Dual lands.

The bright side? I did find a couple Revised Wheel of Fortunes, Demonic Tutors, a Dark Maze of Ith and a very beat up (I'm talking HHP) Alpha Berserk.

What happened to them you might ask? I can't really remember, but my best guess is when I left the game I likely sold them for a few hundred dollars on something a teenager would need more than some cardboard.

Slowly over the last 7 years I've been collecting duals for EDH, but no where near playsets. The prices are somewhat out of reach at this point, but I'm glad to see some being traded on Puca.

Fetch that Bayou for me!
